Jessica Rose Cambio
Soprano, Voice Teacher & Italian Teacher
For our latest Success Stories Feature, Oper Germany is happy to interview Jessica Rose Cambio who is enjoying a career as a lyric soprano in Germany and throughout Europe. Jessica has not only found success on the opera stage in Germany, but also as a voice teacher and Italian teacher. In our interview, you’ll learn what this self-described “scrappy soprano” learned from studying with some of the great Italian sopranos of the 20th century including Mirella Freni & Renata Scotto (the good & the bad!). You’ll also gain insight on how she got her start in Germany through jump-ins, being her own advocate and how she navigated the negative aspects of a Fest contract through the global pandemic and why she feels Germany is the most socially protected place for artists and opera singers.
This February she will be teaching a masterclass series in her home base of Berlin in partnership with PianoMe Official. (There are still spots to sign up here). Along with sharing the positive aspects of living in Germany in our interview, Jessica also gets real about the challenges of the German opera system, particularly for sopranos.
